ACG note

09/29/2009

The 2009 Colorectal Cancer Screening Legislation Report Card rates 21 states and Washington, D.C., with an A grade for support of life-saving colon cancer screening. On the flip side, 19 states scored an F. Most states do not require insurance companies to cover colonoscopy, the gold standard in colon cancer screening. How does your state rate? Read the report here.

ACG supports legislation that covers life-saving colonoscopy. Our goal is to ensure colon cancer screening is covered as a separate bill before Congress or inclusion in the larger health reform bill. Tell your representatives and senators in Congress that you support colon cancer screening efforts. Contact your representatives here.
