Get rid of lawn mushrooms by aerating soil

Some residents of Steamboat Springs, Colo., have complained of mushrooms sprouting in their lawns. The removal of mushrooms can take some effort because the roots, or mycelium, can spread as much as a half-mile a day under the soil. An easier method is to aerate the lawn and keep the grass mowed short, which makes the environment too dry for mushroom growth.
