Kansas schools for students with sensory disabilities to stay open

Two Kansas schools for students with visual and hearing disabilities will not close or merge, a state task force voted Monday. Closing the schools or combining them would not save tax dollars, the panel found. Instead, the School for the Deaf and the School for the Blind were urged to try to cut costs.
