Sony to allow authors to upload books to eBook Store

Sony has teamed up with Author Solutions and Smashwords in a deal that gives self-published authors unprecedented access to its e-book reader. Sony will allow most authors to publish, vetting work only for plagiarism, hate speech and improper formatting. Amazon also allows authors to self-publish to its Kindle, making it possible for writers to sell their content on both platforms.
