AIG and overseers reportedly are finalizing a plan for repayment

American International Group is working with U.S. regulators and other overseers to finalize a plan to repay taxpayers, allowing the government to exit from its almost 80% stake in the company, sources said. The AIG board of directors, the Federal Reserve, the Treasury Department and trustees overseeing the government's stake must approve the complex plan.
