Disabled riders find sense of normalcy in the saddle

More than 100 disabled riders competed last weekend in a daylong equestrian event designed to show off their skills in the saddle. Participants say learning to ride has helped them develop confidence and a sense of normalcy that often proves elusive for people who depend on wheelchairs and prosthetic devices to move through their daily lives.
