JetBlue to fly above consolidation trend, CEO says

JetBlue's CEO says continued independence is the best course for the airline, even while acknowledging that a flurry of consolidation will mean increased competition in some markets. Through a merger or acquisition, JetBlue "could easily double our size overnight, but at what cost to our balance sheet, our culture and brand? We've worked too hard for those assets," Dave Barger said in a memo to employees.
