AT&T announces bundled smart-grid services, meters

AT&T will sell smart meters and the service to run them to utilities companies under an expanded distribution partnership with SmartSynch. The companies first began collaborating in 2009, and under a new agreement, AT&T will bundle its wireless-data services with a suite of smart-grid products on one bill, while offering customers the option to prepay for 10 years of service.
