Blocking protein may bolster glucose control with diabetes

A study in Diabetes revealed that mice with high levels of FOX06, a protein that primes the liver for the production of glucose, developed signs of pre-diabetes. Finding ways to inhibit the function of the FOX06 protein may help regulate the liver's glucose production and help patients with type 1 and type 2 diabetes attain better glucose control, the researchers said.
