Canadian envoy makes case for U.S. approval of Keystone XL project

President Barack Obama should clear TransCanada's Keystone XL pipeline because the project is widely supported by business groups, consumers and workers, said Gary Doer, Canada's ambassador to the U.S. "Doesn't it make more sense to buy our oil from a democratic country and a neighbor like Canada, rather than buying it in the Middle East?" Doer said, paraphrasing a participant at a recent public meeting. "Or as we would say, undiplomatically, would you rather have your oil from Gadhafi or would you rather have it from Canada?"
