Federal judge approves some parts of Alabama's immigration law

U.S. District Judge Sharon Blackburn has approved key parts of Alabama's immigration law while rejecting others. The federal judge's ruling allows law enforcement officials to verify the immigration status of detainees when police have "reasonable suspicion," and it allows penalties for illegal immigrants who engage in "business transactions" with the state.
