Moorman "agnostic" about traffic impact of Panama Canal expansion

Whether the Panama Canal expansion brings more shipments to East Coast ports remains to be seen, says Norfolk Southern CEO Wick Moorman. "There may be some additional business that flows this way [but] L.A./Long Beach will continue to be the dominant port in the country for a long time," Moorman added. Meanwhile, NS' Heartland Corridor project has been under way with construction, improving the competitiveness of the Port of Hampton Roads, Va., and is "extraordinarily well-situated," Moorman said.
