Should schools block some Internet sites?

As schools incorporate more technology in education, there is a growing debate over the amount of online content schools censor. Some question the need to filter so many websites, while others cite the need to protect students and the potential for students to be distracted by nonacademic sites. Some schools discussed the matter of Internet censorship with students recently during the first Banned Websites Awareness Day, organized by the American Association of School Librarians.
