What can you deduct when you hit the road for business?

You can deduct business travel expenses when it comes time to file your taxes, but things get a little more complicated when you mix personal time into the trip. For example, you can't deduct the cost of taking your spouse along on a trip unless he or she is "a bona fide part of the business," Bonnie Lee writes. And you have to separate expenses that went toward recreation if your trip was partly for pleasure, she writes.
