DIRECTV turns its marketing attention to voice technology

DIRECTV will launch a national marketing campaign Thursday to tout the satellite provider's new voice-based search engine and DVR service. Subscribers can find shows to watch and tape by asking "What comedies are on?" and other such questions. Sports fans have especially enjoyed the technology since DIRECTV began field trials in the spring, said Chief Marketing Officer Paul Guyardo.
