New test for tower crane operators unveiled amid some criticism

A new standardized test for tower crane operators has been introduced to improve industry safety and accountability. The test includes a 50-question written exam and a hands-on exam and should determine whether the operator is qualified or not, according to National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators, which created the test. But some say the test is unfair because operators can qualify on a self-erecting crane.
