FDA studies "qualified health claims" labels

Qualified health claims on food product labels that are not scientifically proven can mislead consumers, according to an FDA study involving 1,920 adults. Research results will be reviewed at a hearing in November, although a spokeswoman for the FDA could not speculate whether label changes will be instituted.
