Confectioners are experimenting with more unusual Asian and Latin flavors, especially in the chewing gum and jelly bean categories. "The American population is becoming more daring in the taste and flavor category," says Jenn Ellek, spokeswoman for the NCA. "Beyond pomegranate, [now] lychee, acai berry and guava are upcoming flavors."
