Loss of bonuses means tough decisions for Georgia NBCTs

National Board Certified Teachers in Georgia say the loss of their state NBCT bonuses will mean tough financial decisions for their families. "I'm cutting down spending to the bone. I'm being very, very, very frugal," one teacher said. "I'm watching every penny that leaves my wallet." The state cut the bonuses for its 2,000-plus NBCTs, and the teachers also have faced furloughs and other salary losses.
