Advanced imaging helps improve cardiac disease risk evaluation

Researchers who monitored for a year about 3,000 patients who had advanced imaging procedures found that SPECT, PET and 64-slice CT coronary angiography helped improve the evaluation for the risk of cardiovascular disease. "This early look at the data suggests that it [advanced imaging] does have value," an expert said at the ASNC conference in Philadelphia. "Whether it will change imaging rates is hard to say."
