Caterpillar plans global price hike in 2011

Caterpillar announced plans to implement a global price increase of up to 2% in January, citing current economic conditions and certain "industry factors." Actual increases will vary by region and product. This is in addition to price hikes in the U.S. and Europe that range from 2% to 6% to help the company deal with the cost of compliance with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's new emission standards, a company spokesman said.
