Caterpillar plans a worldwide price increase in 2011

Caterpillar plans to implement a global price increase of as much as 2% in January, citing economic conditions and certain "industry factors." Actual increases will vary by region and product. This is in addition to price hikes in the U.S. and Europe that range from 2% to 6% to help the company deal with the cost of compliance with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's emission standards, a company spokesman said.
