San Diego utility's $1.9 billion power line is under way

State and federal regulators approved San Diego Gas & Electric's amended plans to build a $1.9 billion power line. In constructing its Sunrise Powerlink, the utility expects to build fewer roads and disrupt fewer private and Indian lands. SDG&E estimates that its amended plan will cut the amount of affected land by 45%.
