Canadian scientists are alarmed by Arctic ice melt

Canada's Arctic ice shelves are melting rapidly, losing almost half their size in the past six years, according to research published by Carleton University. Canadian scientists say the melting provides significant evidence of global warming trends as the shelves have existed for 4,500 years.
