Committee recommends more funds for Ga.'s school nurse program

A committee of lawmakers and educators in Georgia is scheduled today to submit recommendations for the state school nurse program to Gov. Nathan Deal. The committee calls for the state to shoulder 50% of the program's $56 million cost. Another recommendation involves assigning one school nurse for every 750 students in elementary schools and one for every 1,500 students in middle and high schools.
