Solid acid smooths facial wrinkles, researcher reports

Solid-state hyaluronic acid effectively smooths facial wrinkles, including crow's feet and transverse forehead wrinkles, and the effects are reversible, Stanford University surgery professor Geoffrey Gurtner reported at Plastic Surgery 2011. "The HA thread can be placed precisely where the physician desires and it does not appear to migrate," said Gurtner, who led a 31-patient study of the product. "The thread avoids potential complications, such as injection into a blood vessel, causing an embolus," he said.
