Emergency medicine doctors allotted 44% of their schedule to entering EMR data, and 28% on direct patient care, a study showed. Researchers also found physicians used 12% of their time evaluating test results and records and 13% communicating with colleagues. The results appear in the American Journal of Emergency Medicine.
