Ill. district studies effect of BYOT policy

Schools in one Illinois district have expanded a pilot program created last year in which students used iPads in some classes, and now District 87 is allowing students to bring their own technology to school. Under the expanded pilot program, officials are hoping to determine whether widespread use of technology helps students learn. The pilot program was open to teachers through an application process and came with training.
