Lufthansa to test overbooking first-class seats

Lufthansa has begun a pilot program for a new overbooking policy that applies to first-class tickets. Typically, airlines overbook seats in economy and business class to ensure spaces are full in the event of no-show fliers. Other airlines exclude first class seats from overbooking to avoid upsetting their most lucrative fliers, but the German carrier is giving it a go on some flights.
