Modeling app forecasts disease outbreaks

IBM has developed an open-source modeling tool known as the Spatio Temporal Epidemiological Modeler designed to enable any kind of data to be integrated with disease information to predict an outbreak of diseases such as malaria and dengue fever. The firm is working with public health researchers to evaluate how factors such as rainfall and temperature changes affect populations of disease-carrying animals and insects.
