Pa. district uses iPads to revamp fifth-grade social studies lessons

The Souderton Area School District in Pennsylvania has replaced textbooks with iPads so fifth-grade social studies students can use the devices to read original source documents, watch videos of other students' work and gather digitized information to use during group discussion. Teachers are using the devices to tailor assignments to students' reading levels while also aiming to teach the students to think like historians.
