Plum Organics sees advantages in benefit-corporation designation

Baby-food company Plum Organics has registered as a benefit corporation, which compels its leaders to consider social and environmental factors as well as shareholder interests. That doesn't mean the company is planning on making less money, says Plum co-founder Neil Grimmer. "When you authentically do good in the world, that engages consumers, who then vote with their dollars," he says.
