Proposal to overturn medical device tax clears House

The proposal to revoke the 2.3% medical device tax has cleared the House of Representatives in a 248-174 vote. "Tonight the House voted to keep the government open and American medical device innovation alive," said Rep. Erik Paulsen, R-Minn., a sponsor of the amendment to repeal the tax, Sunday. On Saturday, 941 medtech companies sent a letter to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., and other congressional leaders urging them to make device tax repeal a priority.
