Report: A slowdown at the fast-food drive-thru

McDonald's took an average of 189.5 seconds to fill a drive-thru order from start to finish, nine seconds longer than the industry average and an all-time high for the quickservice giant, according to QSR Magazine's 2013 Drive-Thru Performance Study. The chain and others including Chick-fil-A, which had the longest average wait, are seeing slowdowns at the drive-thru as a slew of new products make the process more complicated and workers take more time to ensure that orders are accurate.
