Study: Lowest-wage earners see 150% jump in income in retirement

Social Security helps low-income retirees see a boost in income, according to a study by the Employee Benefit Research Institute. The study found that people in the bottom half of income distribution saw no decrease in income during retirement, while those in the bottom one-fourth saw a 150% increase on average. Those at the top of the income distribution got about 60% of their income in retirement, the study found.
