Study reveals faulty logic around cloud blocking

Companies are using the wrong criteria to determine which cloud-based services to block from their networks, according to a new study that found administrators are more likely to single out sites based on bandwidth demand than actual security risk. "Companies are taking yesterday's approach to blocking," said Rajiv Gupta, CEO of Skyhigh Networks, which conducted the study. "IT is still taking a productivity- and bandwidth-based approach rather than risk-based approach to what they need to block."
