Thailand returns to current-account surplus

A return to surplus in Thailand's current-account balance in August is cause for relief among investors, who had anticipated a squeeze from further deficits as funds had begun moving out of the country in expectation of higher U.S. interest rates. The surplus came after Thailand posted a $6.7 billion deficit in the second quarter.
