U.S. market hampered without merger, some say

As Emirates rolls out new service between Milan and New York and Dubai and Boston, it brings up issues for the U.S. market -- specifically over the failed US Airways/American Airlines merger. "I look at the growth in China and I see the growth of Middle Eastern carriers, and then I see that the U.S. government has come and said to American 'You guys cannot get any bigger,'" said Mike Linenberg, a Merrill Lynch analyst.
