Va., Md., N.J. form joint UAV test-site bid

The governors of Virginia, Maryland and New Jersey have told aviation and transportation officials that they support efforts by three state universities to create a joint test site for commercial airspace unmanned aerial vehicles. The University System of Maryland, Rutgers University and Virginia Tech are working together on a site for testing how to integrate UAVs into the national airspace. The Federal Aviation Administration is expected to choose a site by the end of the year.
