Young pro-LGBT voters threaten GOP's long-term outlook, poll indicates

Increasing support for marriage equality among young Americans represents a major challenge for a Republican Party struggling to reach out to new voters, according to a Selzer & Co. national poll conducted on behalf of Bloomberg last week. The poll showed 7 in 10 young Americans support allowing same-sex couples to marry, compared with 52% of Republicans who remain opposed. "The math isn't working to Republicans' favor," said J. Ann Selzer, president of the polling firm.
