Towers demolished as British nuclear plant is decommissioned

Four giant cooling towers at the Calder Hall nuclear power station in Britain were demolished Saturday as the 62-building site is decommissioned. The facility, which produced weapons-grade plutonium, dated back to 1956 and was the first plant to generate commercial quantities of nuclear power.
