A recovery plan unveiled Wednesday by the Associated General Contractors of America calls for more government spending on building projects, along with tax credits and policy revisions, among other things. One of the goals of the plan is to ease unemployment in the construction industry; more than 1 million construction workers are now unemployed. "The problems facing the construction industry aren't just devastating construction workers, they are crippling our broader economy," AGC President Stephen Sandherr said. "Simply put, you can't fix our economy until you fix the construction industry."
