Crowdsourcing is still an individual pursuit

Crowdsourcing efforts still rely on a genius to prime the pump, Dan Woods writes, noting that most successful crowdsourced projects end up relying on the work of an individual or a very small group. Woods argues that this kind of initiative is really a "virtuoso search," since the point is to find stellar contributors, not draw on the middling contributions of a crowd.
