F18-FES, -FDG combo improves PET imaging of endometrial carcinoma

The combined use of F18-fluoroestradiol and F18-FDG tracers in PET imaging helped researchers improve identification of pathologic stages and aggressiveness of tumors related to endometrial adenocarcinoma and endometrial hyperplasia, a Japanese study said. The combo method, which had 86% accuracy, was better than using each one alone in measuring tumor aggressiveness, the researchers said.
