Federal judge throws out lawsuit against clearance of pipeline project

A federal judge in Washington, D.C., dismissed a lawsuit filed by the Natural Resources Defense Council over allegations that a construction permit for the TransCanada Keystone Pipeline violated U.S. law. The group wanted the approval revoked, saying that the State Department granted the presidential clearance based on a faulty statement on environmental effects. The NRDC, however, did not have standing to challenge the permit, according to the judge's ruling.
