Three teams are expected to compete for a $2.3 billion contract to build rail lines from downtown Denver to Denver International Airport and Arvada, Colo. The contract includes construction of a maintenance facility and a section of a third line. The Regional Transportation District formally issued a request for proposals for the contract this week and is expected to award the contract in 2010. The project will be a public-private partnership and includes the operation of the rail lines.
