Every American school should go green, says Green Building Council

About 6,500 American schools are currently LEED-certified, but Green Building Council officials say they want every school in the country to win certification within a generation. Green architecture offers countless learning opportunities for pupils and can help to shape students' future attitudes toward the environment. "The education sector is doing more in the way of green building than any other sector ... but we still have a really long way to go," said Rachel Gutter, director of the Green Building Council's Center for Green Schools.
