IBM, Autodesk unveil sustainable-design technologies

Technology companies continue to beef up their offerings to contractors, especially in the area of sustainable design. IBM is rolling out a sustainability-management system that gathers data on heating, lighting and other energy functions. Meanwhile, Autodesk has revamped its Revit Architecture software to help developers incorporate energy-efficiency considerations early in the design process.
