McDonald's may get a health care waiver

The Obama administration may allow certain waivers to insurance coverage under the health care reform law. McDonald's threatened to drop coverage for 30,000 hourly employees because of provisions the company said would cost too much in its "mini-med" plan for those workers. Health and Human Services Director Kathleen Sebelius can use her discretion to address "special circumstances" for employers, said an administration official.
