Regulators update lawmakers on steps taken for Dodd-Frank

Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke and other leading regulators have updated a Senate panel on progress from the Dodd-Frank Act. The Fed, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp., the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Treasury Department have long to-do lists that include rules to write and agencies to establish. "The Dodd-Frank Act is an important step forward for financial regulation in the United States, and it is essential that the act be carried out expeditiously and effectively," Bernanke told lawmakers.
